Julius Caesar is Shakespeare on the Sound's 13th annual summer outdoor production. The politically charged study of powerful, ambitious personalities in conflict offers perfect election year summertime fare. Performances are free, with a suggested donation of $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Bring your own blanket or chair, and find your favorite spot. Performances begin daily, except Mondays, at 7:30 p.m., with storytelling for children next to the stage at 6:30 p.m.
Ezra Barnes, Artistic Director of Shakespeare on the Sound, describes Julius Caesar as "one of Shakespeare's most popular plays, a story that is easy to grasp and enthralling." Long a staple in classroom curriculum and overflowing with familiar quotations (from "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears" to "It's Greek to me"), Shakespeare on the Sound's Julius Caesar promises an evening of lively, relevant entertainment for the whole family.
Limited reserved seating is available at $50 per person. Please call 203.299.1300 if you would like to reserve a seat.
