Train by Metro North from New York
If you are taking a train, we recommend taking a train to Darien. There is a Rowayton station on Metro North but it has no taxi stand. Metro North trains run directly and frequently from Grand Central Station to Darien on the New Haven line. You can check the schedules here. Once you get off the train in Darien, it is a short taxi ride to Pinkney Park in Rowayton. It is estimated that the show will end at approximately 10:15 p.m.
Parking & Drop-Off in Rowayton
If you live close by, please consider walking to the park, and help us keep traffic in town to a minimum. If you live beyond walking distance, please be sure that you are legally parked. If your spot is at any distance, remember that you may pull your car into the park to drop off your belongings before parking.
There are three lots nearby, clearly marked for Shakespeare on the Sound parking:
United Church of Rowayton: Entering Rowayton from I-95 on Route 136 (Rowayton Avenue) look on your left for the United Church of Rowayton, a large, contemporary building. Turn left and park in the lot behind the church. 150 yard walk to the show entrance.
Witch Field: Just beyond the church on Route 136 (Rowayton Avenue) turn left on Witch Lane and right into Witch Field to park. Parking here is strictly limited to 50 cars. 100 yard walk to the show entrance.
Rowayton Elementary School: Follow Route 136 (Rowayton Avenue) past the performance site. Just past the cannon, turn left onto Wilson Avenue and follow it through one stop sign and one traffic light until you reach Rowayton Elementary school on the right. Park in the school’s parking lot. Quarter-mile walk to the show entrance.
Parties with lots of people and paraphernalia may turn into the park to unload for a brief time only. Cars cannot be left unattended. Please keep a close eye on your children as the drop-off area can be busy and crowded.
There are a limited number of handicapped-only spots available inside the park. Please ask at the drop-off where to park.
