SoS Salon: The Balcony Scene

An exclusive salon hosted in a private home in the Cranbury section of Norwalk. Address to the Salon will be given following RSVP confirmation.

 

Romeo and Juliet are coming to a living room in Norwalk. On November 12, the new cast of R+J 4evr will perform the balcony scene on a real balcony close enough that you will feel transported to Verona. Followed by an intimate conversation with the actors and creatives about what we just watched.R+J 4evr is our reimagining of Romeo and Juliet, which mixes Shakespeare's language with modern speech and music and invites the audience to take part.

 

How the evening goes

7:00: Doors Open: Arrive, settle in, and enjoy drinks and light bites.

7:30: Welcome and Performance: Executive Director Aaron Simms welcomes everyone with a few words about SoS and our on-going endeavor to bring Shakespeare’s plays across Fairfield County before the cast performs the scene.

 

After the scene: Director of Education and Outreach, Stephanie Eiss leads a conversation with the actors and the room about the anatomy of the scene. What did you see? What did you hear differently this time? What would you have done in Juliet's place? You don't need any Shakespeare background to join in.

 

8:45: Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow: We wrap up, and you're welcome to stay until 9.

Space is limited to 16 guests, and registration closes November 5. There is no ticket price, however we suggest a minimum gift of $50 per person, with larger gifts welcome to support SoS and our Education program. Parking is limited, so please share a ride if you can.
